Artisan Shiden XSOFT Mousepad Mini-Review - Page 2

Uh I'd say usage vary from people to people. But for ME I've had this pad for about 6 months now I think it might've turned a bit more silver than white not sure how that happened. But aside from that it's pretty much good as new. And I'm one of those people that sit infront of computer when I get home so it's not like I don't use it much.

Though my girlfriend got the same mouse pad much later than me and hers is dirty now. So like I said it vary from people to people. If you don't eat on your table / grab keyboard mouse with greasy fingers you'll most likely be ok smile.gif

Well, super SUPER late update on the mousepad after using it for this long. biggrin.gif Apologies.

Still holds up as great as the day I started. Now I noticed I have a dark spot where my wrist usually sits. Now note, I am very conscious when it comes to eating on my desk. I usually eat to the very side and roll back over to the work space along with washing hands prior to touching my equipment again.

Here's a picture so you can get an idea:

All I have to take a picture is my phone, so it's not the most amazing shot. But if you look where you would usually keep your wrist on a mousepad you'll see how the spot is noticeably darker. I attempted to scrub it off to no avail.

Also, the edge of the fabric top layer has had some peeling, but nothing to write home about. Just a small hair-like thin fiber that can go rouge every few months.

Other than the dirt issue, it's still awesome and I still love it. Haven't even thought about another mousepad after using it 1yr+. I just wish I got it in a darker color and probably a larger pad since I play with a low sensitivity.

I'm also interested in this now, so any more feedback would be welcome.
I'm actually looking at the medium hardness one, assuming it might have a tad less friction.
Or perhaps the Shiden-Kai, even.

Any issues with tracking? I'm currently using an Ikari Optical (A3060).
The Xoam store says it's incompatible with the Zowie EC1, EC2.
EDIT: Oh, snap. The Zowies use the A3060 too. I guess I won't be buying this pad then.

Hi early. I've had the Shiden XSOFT longer than the OP and I can say that I used it for a very long time too and worked amazing on my g9x, better than any other pad. Though it did get dirty after a while near where my wrist moves. However when I switched to a ZOWIE FK, the tracking performance and acceleration noticeably deteriorated. I switched pads to the Artisan ZERO XSoft and it has been working outstanding.

Here is a review of it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-p8-RVtaEQ
