just bought brand new Samsung Series 7 Chronos 15.6" np700z5a-s04us, had a question about the 8gb Express Cache SSD

Thread Starter
This laptop has a 8gb ssd thats called "express cache" thats suppose to help boot time, which it does, its very fast, i love this laptop. But i was wondering if you could upgrade the ssd to a larger one, and would it need some special reformatting. Also, which type of Ram does it need to be upgraded. Also, are there any tweeks or mods to make it faster more reliable, or more useful, any suggestions would be great. thanks a lot

thats the one i got

ps. i already did the mod to the space bar, and shift key, so it registers properly when you hit the corners of it. You put a little tiny piece of square between the button and the key and it tightens it up perfectly.

The proper RAM is DDR3 1333, SO-DIMM. Looks like it came with 6GB so the upgrade to 8GB might not be a huge gain, but why not.
Also, the Express Cache is soldered to the motherboard so you can't upgrade it. You might be able to replace the DVD-RW drive with an SSD (you'd have to google it), or you definitely could replace the hard drive. It's always best to do this type of research before buying a laptop.
