*FINISHED* Forever Alone FT02BW. Server Edition. - Page 18

I actually already got the magicool rad in the system. There definitely isn't any additional room for clearance! Had to also modify the hotswap adapters to get them to fit, but I think I'm satisfied with the end result. Still need to drill out a hole for the drain port at the back end of the radiator.

I'd rather not have a drain port thrn drill through the unibody. That is almost blasphemy IMO. tongue.gif

Maybe, but I think would rather have a method to quickly and easily drain the thing.
As a more discrete option, however, I was also considering putting a drain at the bottom of the case through the large holes on the bottom panel. However this would require a slight repositioning of the radiator so that lies closer to the front and leaves a larger gap at the back which I think is less visually pleasing.

Need updates. I loved your original FT02 build. It was one of the builds which inspired me to do mine.

cool , i love both FT02 as Lian Li build.
although most love goes to the FT02, i have the silver colored version, without a window.
another bad choice on my part, visible cables stand out that much more.

i've tried my hand at cable management in the FT02, but not yet full blown case-mods on it.
At the moment, i struggle a bit to find a way to stash all those sata cables/ power cables.

How would it look if you apply 3M DiNoc foil to the motherboard backplate?rolleyes.gif

For SATA cables I will be cutting a small hole behind the motherboard where all the cables will pass through.

SATA power cables will run along the backside of the motherboard tray.

As for DiNoc I have never used it myself so I can't even really comment on it. If a person could do a great job on applying it over the motherboard tray on a FT02S I guess it could look pretty good.

well, connecting the SATA cables aint the problem, it's the length of the cables that's an issue.
The DiNoc foil is not so hard to apply, you only need to make sure you can do the whole surface in 1 piece, and to avoid bubbles ofc.

Use Akasa Proslim SATA cables. You can pull off the connector. Cut the cable to the desired length. Then just push the connector back in place. They are the only SATA cables I use now.
