MX518 -- dying? possible fix?

Thread Starter
Here's an example of the problem:

* Playing BF3: you're dashing in, barely even fidgeting the mouse. Then, out of nowhere, you instantly look ALL THE WAY UP after a flick of the mouse.

Basically, it doesn't happen all the time, but it happens -- mouse will instantly look all the way up or down until you move it again. Sometimes I think it locks up.

I've tried cleaning up with compressed air, and used a Q-Tip to try and scrub any debris that it's inside, but to no avail.

I haven't used the Logitech drivers for the longest time -- been using the ones that automatically installs when you plug in the mouse for the first time. I haven't had any problems with it until this problem surfaced.

Oh, and the problem persists on both this desktop and my laptop, so.. it's definitely the mouse smile.gif

I've had this mouse for a LONG TIME (2005-2006? Around that time), so I wouldn't be surprised if it just hit the crapper.

Besides trying a new driver, is there any fix to this? Thanks.

**EDIT: Forgot to mention that another problem could be my mousepad, as that has... a lot of gunk on it (hey, I clean it every now and then!). Definitely gonna go without it and see if that makes any difference!

If it's the mouse itself, get a G400. wink.gif

Mousepad usually makes your mouse hang/stutter. Not shoot up in the sky.

I think you'd best make the arrangements and make his last days worth it. RIP you little soldier :'(
