cannot control fan speed on 9800GT??

Hello,

when I click on System setting in rivatuner, I cannot see the FAN tab where is should be?
Is it because my driver version is 197.45?
on evgaprecision, my fan speed is blured out, so i can't move it tongue.gif

I am asking this because i have to adjust the fan speed because i have stock cooler on 9800gt and when i turn furmark on to stress it goes to 100C in half a minute or so... its idle temp is 55-55C. (I will clean the dusr l8er, but i do it once a month or every 2 months)

we have underground heating for the house, so the floor is very warm all the time and my case is on the floor, does that matter for the temp too? could the floor heat the case too?

Thank You in advance!

I am not going to blame the drivers, even though they are slightly outdated. Why would not you get the latest drivers, specified for your video card? Everything will work out a lot better that way. From my own experience, the newest drivers gives the best results, performance in games and a lot more than older ones. Seriously, I recommend you to do some updates.

you should replace your thermal paste as well. Card should never get to 100c with stock heatsink. Card should be running at 100% at 100c anyways. Also ditch rivatuner and get msi after burner, much better then that old outdated rivatuner program. After Burner also has a great custom fan profile manager thats really easy to use.
