Anyone own a GoPro? - Page 3

Yes,
I picked up a GoPro Hero 2 for skiing this year. The quality and image stabilization is amazing. 120fps is amazing for high speed and the GoPro is all around a great buy! I have to recommend getting a 32gb SD card with the carmera and a few extra batteries. The camera really eats through battery and memory when recording in 1080p. The batteries are only $15 a piece so I picked up 3. The Skeleton case is also great when paired with a tripod mount for amazing wide angle time lapse movies, since you can supply constant power to the go-pro.
This camera does it all!

Yep, gopros are the shizz. Sure, they look super gay ontop of a helmet, but even the contour+ shoots video only approaching the quality of the Goprp HD1 (very subjective, you'll have to look and decide for yourself). The Gopro HD2 blows the $500 Contour+ out of the water IMO. Also, contours aren't watertight (water resistant IIRC), the lenses are concave (and thus will quickly become lodged with snow in my use), and are non-replaceable, where the gopro has a great big convex lens, and is replaceable if you crack/scratch it. I'm also a luddite without a smartphone, so the Contour's neat bluetooth features mean nothing to me.

Shameless plug (gopro HD2 footage)
