First of all please excuse how computer-illiterate I am.
OK, so onto the problem. A few months ago I was able to use my computer absolutely fine. Every time I started it up though I would get a reminder to install a NVIDIA driver or something. I didn't see the harm so clicked "Next" as much as I could to get through the installation quickly. After it had finished it asked me to restart, which is when my life became computerless.
I switched it back on, and I saw the BIOS screen, it then went through another startup screen displaying some specs I believe, and then it simply went blank with a white, horizontal cursor blinking in the top left.
It seems to me, to describe the problem to you at the very least, as though it is no longer able to boot from my hard-drive. It boots from a disc, and I have tried booting from various vista repair and fresh install discs to no avail. I have changed the boot order to boot from hard-drive, which is when I get a black, screen with a cursor. I also hear a very quiet, high pitched long beep as it hits this screen.
Please help, it would be great to see my computer again some day.
