Haha, I saw the same thing. First time around it one of the EVGA guys, and now Kevdog took one of my discarded IPs.

Even odder: I have a 2-core and 4-core on AZ1 doing the same project 6942, and they both seem to have similar TPF. Shouldn't the 4-core be much faster, if not double? I checked with top and fah process seems to be correctly 200% and 400% on respective machines. Doesn't make sense, unless I've done something else wrong somewhere.

Luck of the draw, that how it goes. Had a a 4c that did 1600 PPD, terminated that pretty quick. Also, since these are virtual machines it wont get 4 physical dedicated core to work with, it's rather dependably on how many others virtual machines its got running and what those does. The more of us that get HPCSs folding the more will our instances slow down, pretty ironic.

Shame on those guys for not limiting who can access it to their own IP.

Ya you are not seeing 4 physical cores but a portion of whatever server you land on. It is highly depended on when exactly you make the instance as well. I have noticed that 8cores are able to see much bigger numbers right now if you remake them but It could just be luck of the draw with being put on a good server. A little sad faced that they are going to be doing the ram restriction in under a week

I really don't care if the instance slows down as long as it finishes every WU it gets. I (still) have enough invite codes to build 100 4c/8g instances and at the same time helping to fold for the cause.

I'm happy just being a part of "Overclock.NET HPCS team". First time my PPD skyrocketed to 600K PPD so can't really complain here.

I guess the long route would be "ifconfig" then get the server ip and match it to your instances. Not really sure if there's a command to get the public IP from ubuntu terminal.

As long as they're going back to OCN and not EVGA. gunner.gifbiggrin.gif

And I agree with arvidab's interpretation, I don't think HPCS is giving you complete and exclusive access to the cores it assigns you. However, this raises the question of when HPCS ends its beta, are they not going to give paying customers the best computational power possible? I hope they will, and my guess is that they're doing this during the beta to maximize workload across their servers. thinking.gif

I just set up 10 2c's getting ~22K PPD from them, was showing ~32K PPD yesterday. Don't know what's going on with that 10th one.

Edit: Never mind, got that 10 running by restarting FAH.

Is that max for both zones? I am getting about 45-50k through 2 4cores and 2 2cores per zone. Might help if you created the 10 through the course of the day so that they hopefully end up on different physical servers
