My naos 3200's wheel squeaks. Is a shame because its the best mouse fit I've ever seen.
I'd stay away from them right now. It sucks because I started out a huge fan, there are so many issues with them

I purchased my Mionix Saiph 3200 on August 3rd 2011 from Datakjeden.no in Trondheim, Norway.
One of the most comfortable mice to hold in the hand, weight and balance very nice, cable also good it is one of the fabric ones.
In about June 2012 it started double clicking, by July it was driving me nuts.
I am an avid gamer, so when you are opening your bags for example, and you have to do it 15 times because it opens and closes again it gets old fast.
Browsing forums you skip a page, try and go back, you go back 2 pages.
Online banking, a nightmare of password errors where you risk the 3 strikes and your out rule every time you use it.

I found the guarantee, I was very happy to find that it was actually 2 years, not the one year I was expecting, although I was still under one year anyway.

My first mail sent to Mionix customer support was July 9th explaining the problem and also explaining that the store I purchased it from was in bankruptcy from 04/05/2012, asking for their help and what could be done.

12/7 I get a reply from Anders advising me to try again and get in touch with the store, if I couldn't or they were unwilling to help to send him proof of purchase and he would see what he could do.

12/7 I send a photo to Mionix of my credit card statement showing the purchase, once again a reply from Anders advising this is not enough it has to be an invoice or order form from online purchase (It was bought in a shop), advising me to get in touch with the company taking over from Datakjeden as they would also take over the RMA responsibility.

I reply again on the same day re-iterating it was a store purchase not online.

17/7 I send an e-mail asking for a response.
23/7 before I get the next reply from Anders, he will try and get in touch with them and 'sort this out'.
31/7 I send another reminder asking for an update.
8/8 Anders advises he seems unable to get hold of anyone, he will keep trying by phone and e-mail.
10/08 no more news, by now I am really fed up and send a mail to say I will have to buy a new mouse as they are unwilling to help me.

This game of ping pong is the most unprofessional display of customer service I have come across in quite some time, I was so happy to find these forums because imagine my suprise to see someone called Anders from Mionix making forums posts when I had imagined due to his lack of reply to my mails he had ceased to work for them.

I have therefore renewed my request to them for a repair or replacement mouse, sadly, Anders has not yet seen fit to respond to my mail, I am therefore posting my chapter of war and peace here as he seems to respond a little more promptly to this forum.

Thankyou for reading and apologies for the wall of text.
Carol

Sorry to hear that, im sure he will reply....he did for me eventually biggrin.gif

Anyway i gave up with Mionix RMA, they are no doubt warranty dodgers, if you watch their Facebook page you will see people post a comment usually expressing concern about support emails being ignored and then days later asking why support are still ignoring their emails and why their comment was removed from Facebook.

If you look for companies that are recommended on forums you will see that customers express the need for a hassle-free, easy, prompt customer service, its no doubt a BIG tick box when buying.
Failure to provide a sufficient support/RMA service cant do a company any good in the long run, it creates a bad name and people tend to not buy from companies known for being difficult when it comes to RMA.

Im not trying to cause trouble for Mionix but im just stating plain facts.

I just bought my son a Corsair K90 for his upcoming birthday, he will be so happy with it tongue.gif
Unfortunately i had to rule out the Zibal 60 due to my troubles getting my Naos 3200 repaired, this was such a shame as he really would be better off with the Zibal as it has pass through Audio which i preffered him to have.

Anyway it came down to having pass though audio or a warranty, obviously anything as much as a mechanical keyboard is better off with a warranty tongue.gif

Good luck getting your problem sorted, hopefully you dont get anymore messing around from Mionix. thumb.gif

Just had a go installing this and it ran smoothly with my Naos 5000 for the most part. I was able to make the usual configuration changes like: changing the LED colours, altering the DPI settings etc, however, what got me was the firmware update. When attempting to do the firmware on my Naos 5000, the updater made no progress for about a minute before finally giving me an error saying that the update failed. Since then, my mouse has been bricked. I cannot use any of the buttons and it will not respond to clicks etc. I have tried connecting the mouse to numerous of the other computers in my home but it does not work on any of them. Windows just detects it as a 'USB Input device' but does not actually do anything after that. I have also tried re-installing previous versions of the software but it makes no difference.

Every time I check the firmware version using the Mionix software, it gives me a different value. For example, sometimes it says my mouse has a firmware of 0.00, other times it's 392.67 etc. Just ran into this problem about 2 hours or so back. I have written to Mionix and am hoping to get it resolved (fingers crossed that it can be fixed with some software). My previous Naos 5000 died on me a month or so back (dead sensor) so the last thing I want is another RMA process x_x!

I just went through the same problem. Uninstall the software then install the beta. Restart your PC then go into the software and click on update firmware. This worked for me.

Hi LBear,
Thanks for your response! I uninstalled the software, rebooted, installed the beta, rebooted again and then tried checking for firmware updates. Unfortunately the update firmware button does not respond at all - it clicks but doesn't do anything.

EDIT: So after spending a couple of hours yesterday uninstalling/re-installing again, it finally worked. No idea what caused it to work this time around, but I'm glad it did haha.

So a while back my Naos 3200 started to frequently disconnect and reconnect rendering it useless for pretty much anything.
After an unsuccessful 5 weeks with Mionix support I gave in and decided to open her up and see what was wrong!

Within 2 seconds of opening her up I could see what I thought very likely to be causing the problem.

As the cable enters the front of the mouse it is secured/clamped into place to stop it being pulled out and causing damage.
The method used for clamping is that the cable is pushed between plastic corners/pieces moulded into the mouse base, as the cable is fixed into this position it is very tight and pulls the cable at such an angle that I would say it is likely to snap the wires inside the cable.

I was sure the cable was broken here so I cut off about 4 inches from the front of the mouse and re-made the connection inside the mouse, I did look for a replacement cable and did find one but it was listed for a Logitech MX15 so was not a braided cable and also 3 of the connector pins needed switching places(quickly done) but I couldn’t be bothered waiting for cable to be delivered from China so I spliced the cable instead.

Works perfect now so im very sure the cable was broke at the point I speak of and im also sure it would have been caused by this method of securing the cable in place, it seems wrong to secure a cable in such a way and it is certain to cause damage to the cable after a period of time given that the cable directly in front of the mouse would also be pulling left and right often adding to the cable tension at the point it enters the mouse.

Anyway, most importantly it now once again works perfect, I can once again enjoy the comfy grip of the Naos 3200 thumb.gif
