Amd fx-6100 CPU Temp

hey, i have the fx-6100 in my pc and i have it overclock at 4.5ghz at 1.4v, when at full load with prime95, on core temp and HWmonitor i get a max temp of around 43-45c... when i check with amd overdrive the cpu temp show around 55-57c. Which one is the correct temp?

I would say overdrive is. There is a glitch with HM with the FX series chip it show 10C lower than actually temp. So if you add 10c you right in the same ball park as overdrive.

well it also shows 43-45c on core temp... so i dunno which one is right. i saw in a couple of other thread that said AOD is the cpu temp and that hwmonitor or core temp show the temperature of the core temps and the temp of the core is the one that is the right temp. dunno if this is true

What are you running for a cpu cooler?
I'm not running a FX chip but that is a nice OC on that cpu so I would think it's would be the higher of the 2 temps. And that is prime it will push your temps.

im running a corsair h100 in a carbide 500r case... but i still think that core temp and hwmonitor is the right temp, cause i saw i a couple other thread says that AOD is always higher and should not look at those temps because the th cpu temp and not the cores temps, and they says the cpu temp is always higher than core temp

From what I have been reading Hwmonitor is off by 10c. You have to add that to your temps. Also what is your idle temps you can tell if your idle temps are lower than ambient temp. Than you will know what I'm talking about. Your chip should be running about 5-10c above ambient or more. Even at stock voltage.

well it idles around 9-11c because i have AMP (i think) on and when im not using much cpu it down clock it to 1.4ghz to make it stay cool, but when i have it at 4.5ghz without AMP idle is around 17-20c, and my room temp is usually 19-20c

So you actual temps is 27-30 idle using HW monitor.
