I have around thirty Xbox 360 games, a few months left on Xbox Live (I got a year), and I haven't touched it since December even while I have half a dozen unfinished games that I really quite enjoy and would like to play. The same has happened with my PS3 (ten or so games haven't played in a little under a year). It's evening happening with my PC gaming now. It's amusing because now even my girlfriend plays more than I do compared to when we first started dating (close to three years ago) when I easily outplayed her by 20+ hours a week.
I think a lot of it has to do with how busy I have gotten. I've been meaning to get back into video games this summer because I have some more time/ When you get home after work, school, do your homework, and then sit on the stationary bike for a hour the days almost over. Also if you haven't played for awhile you lose that "come-home-get-on-the-console-as-fast-as-you-can" motivational jolt and that's what keeps you coming back day after day playing and playing.
I decided to call up a buddy of mine who lives in Ohio and we're going to play some of the new Ghost Recon on the 360 so I'm hoping that, and doing some co-op Fable III with the girlfriend will get me back into it. Plus, video games are about the only time I "socialize." All of the people I used to spend time with are going to the clubs, partying on the weekends, and whatnot and I'm not into any of that. So hopefully video games will bring me back.
