Expert advice needed HP Pavilion with a shattered screen...

Thread Starter
OK a co-worker gave me a beat up HP Pavilion DV6 media laptop and I now have it running. I just ordered the recovery disc from HP but even that may not help. The screen was destroyed. I can not get to recovery with out the screen due to boot. The external screen turns on after Windows logs on. So my boot sequence up to that is where I am stuck. I removed the display from the motherboard but the external still will not display untill Windows logs on. For a freebie so to speak I still can not pay for a screen to be replaced but it is a very sweet system ( Going to remove it from its house into a better house..custom case).

I believe if I can get into the BIOS options I can set it ti boot display to the external monitor. The problem it I can not see anything...grrrrr

So...Update time. Just finished repairs on the chasis and letting the repair cure. Purchased a power supply for the lap top. May even repaint and dress up the covers. I am going to set this lap top up in my shop on a roll around cart for when I do my case mods I can shoot and download with out having to come in the house.
