I'd be happy to test it for you, I just don't know how to set it up and the guides I found are extremely complicated.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Almost all of the increase in transistors went to graphics, meaning that Intel is fudging their TDP more than usual (45W quads won't use anywhere near that at 100% load while gaming with integrated). I'd expect the CPU-side of their quads to use at least 5W less, maybe 10W less than SB. That means, more overclocking headroom for an i7-3960XM. There are already people running M18x's with a 2920XM at 4.5ghz on all cores, seems pretty likely for a 3960XM to hit 5ghz just as easy.

But the real thing to wait for would be a 680M. GK110 has double the CUDA cores as a GTX 580 on a single die. If they can do something similar with laptops.. 680M should get within 10-20% of 580M SLI.

Great choice, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

One thing, don't buy memory from Alienware, or a second hard drive.

I have the Killer wireless N and it's highly recommended, 450mbps wifi connections are awesome.

Buy this memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231484

and any solid state drive that you prefer, if you want to go that route. I use a 256gb Crucial M4 as a boot volume and I have the 750gb 7200rpm drive that it came with.

Also they have 15% off if you go over $3799, free blu-ray and Killer wifi, heyo!

That's a good point, I hadn't really considered overclocking headroom, very duly noted, thanks.

Yea I know not to buy anything aftermarket from Dell.

Can someone proof read these aftermarket parts? I'm so ignorant when it comes to laptops. Mind you this is for an Alienware m18x.

Does anyone know where I can buy a car charger and extra battery for the m18x?

Y'know regardless of the uninformed spurts. Alienware does live up to their "gaming laptop" hype. Yes you are paying a couple hundred extra for an alien head but they do put powerful equipment in a rather well cooled laptop. They are loud as all hell but they will do what you're looking for.
