What's Up with Google Chrome lately? - Page 2

Mine repeatedly crashes. It always happens when I close a youtube tab. Seems that if I pause the video before closing the tab, it doesn't crash

Apparently this is a somewhat new issue with Chrome, probably came along with a recent update, I wouldn't know because I don't use Chrome by default. I would recommend for the mean time disabling HWA (hardware acceleration) in Flash player by going to any Flash Video, Right Clicking, Settings, and then unchecking "Enable Hardware Acceleration". See if that helps.

Same here, if i'm playing a youtube video, and close it, it will crash chrome..

It's a known issue. Started with the latest version. Google acknowledged the problem and is now trying to fix it.

Was just on Reddit today; do suggest viewing the rest of the main comment thread for fixes if this doesn't work wink.gif

Disable flash hardware acceleration (right click the video, settings, first tab on the left, uncheck enable hardware acceleration, close) and try it again.

If still no luck, uninstalling & reinstalling Chrome might fix it; or updating your "Non-IE" flash player:

EDIT: Had this thread open for hours, forgot to refresh. Tons of new answers, including what I suggested.

... or you can use Canary and enable sync on it and the version you're using at the moment.

As far as I can tell the bug has been fixed or is non-existent on canary. Just make sure not to visit any shady sites. thumb.gif
