Moving the Front Intake fan, need input.

Thread Starter
Hello all,

I have a Thermaltake Soproano case and was thinking of removing the 120mm front intake and kind of tying in such a manner as to blow directly onto the northbridge/cpu heatsink.

Is this a good idea? I realise that the intake will take air outside of the case in, but if the fan is blowing out the back, wouldn't cool air naturally come through the intake slots in the front?

I don't want to spend on CPU/Northbridge cooling so I though that a 120MM fan blowing directly on these components it would help better than blowing across the HDD (which never gets that warm anyway).

Regards,

Jimmy

You might want to look into one of these:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118204

The backet it comes with mounts to the PCI slot screws and give you quite a bit of flexibilty to set a fan over the NB/CPU area.

Hope this helps

Or one of these might do the trick. Plus allow for more HDD storage.
