i just recently purchased an open box asus 6850 for 80$ on Newegg. If everything works out it will be the GPU in this computer..

what im asking is can you guys see a bottle-neck in the CPU and GPU?

He really wants that case so it has to stay, and i figured that the HDD is big enough for him.

thanks for help in advanced!

From what i see, that system should handle the games he plays just fine. There shouldn't be any bottlenecks at all.

IMO a very solid low budget system.

Good thanks guys! i was just wondering as well what do you think about that psu? i have heard mixed feelings about it! i figure this system should not pull over 350 watts. Is there a better budget psu that im overlooking or no?

It probably won't. But the PSU is on sales with rebates right now. I think it is a pretty good deal. A really solid PSU.

Edit: Double checked for you. On newegg, there is nothing that beats the corsair right now. Everything else is either really crappy or nice and more pricey.

the Antec earthwatts line of PSUs are inexpensive and very reliable. the only down side is they aren't the prettiest things to look at.

lets hope one of the PSU gurus will see this thread and give you some better recommendations.

you are spending money in all the wrong places

$110 i3-2100
$120 p67 extreme3
$230 hd6950
$20 4gb of ram
$70 corsair cx600
$15 cheap case
$50 recertified 250gb drive

goes 50 bucks over budget but is twice as fast as what you're suggesting

also on that psu :
$8 off with promo code EMCNJHD22, ends 2/1

Does the $550 budget include the $80 6850 you just bought?
