What is better for games ?

Thread Starter
Well I'm trying to get a headset for games, only games for use of music and others already use another system.
Using a sound card Asus Xonar Essence STX, was looking at the Sennheiser PC350, but I could not have 5.1.
We also heard many compliments from the Sennheiser HD 595, but the problem is that there is no microphone and also has 5.1.
Does the PC 350 would have a better performance for games that the HD595 with a microphone part?
Can anyone name another 7.1/5.1 Headphone Headset or enjoy it as much as the Xonar STX and is better for gaming?

Any entry level audiophile headphone will dick on a "gamer" headset. You could always get a clip on mic or a desktop mic?

7.1/5.1 are gimmicks really. You'll want a decent soundstage and heavy on the bass I guess.

I'm not familiar enough with headphones to tell you what to go for, but it might help if you had a budget in mind?

hd595 for sure. if you want something cheaper try AD700. i try gaming with bass heavy headphones and it was a disaster. you loose so much detail plus if you are looking for heavy bass you will have to go Close headphones. I love open headphones for gaming and more on the AD700 or the AKG q701 (which i have now) cause it give you large soundstage (in your case 5.1/7.1 you're looking for) you can hear everything that is near and far. who is right next, behind, above, below you.

I'm seriously thinking about getting an Audio Technica AD700 and a Zalman ZM-MIC1 microphone.
I had an HD595 with a Zalman MIC1, really great sound quality, but not a lot of bass, which didn't bother me at all as I don't really want a lot of bass in an headphone, I now have it's replacement, the HD598 which is basically the exact same thing, I think it may have slightly more bass, but that's about it. You shouldn't get any 5.1 headphones, they're crap for the most part, or only decent but overpriced at most.
