EA has always been hated by most PC gamers for all the crap they have done. Origin is just one of their sins piled upon a mountain of them:

- C&C franchise: Drove away original West Wood staff
- NFS franchise: Drove franchise into the ground
- Sims City franchise: Drove franchise into the ground
- Sims franchise: Innovation stopped at Sims 2 and DLC's are obvious milking ploys
- Spores: Dumbed down from initial presentation and premise with horrible DRM
- Bioware seems to be on the downhill after EA buying them, given the quality of their last DA release
- Origin exclusivity: While within their rights, it is a completely unnecessary move

Unless we are talking about BF3 fanboys, I don't recall ever hearing anyone actually praise EA. Until Ubisoft and Activision stole the crown, EA was actually consistently one of the most despised franchises. This is not a recent thing. I personally have disliked and distrusted EA for as long as I can remember.

Im sorry I don't agree with this at all. EA, as much as I hate them, has a right yo make a program where u can store and launch there games. Everyone here complains about how pc gaming is dying yet you people don't realize its because of your own "eliteness" is what's killing pc gaming. Your inability to accept change is destroying the same thing you say you want to keep.

No one is denying EA's right to force Origin on gamers, we are saying that it is purely a greed move and completely unnecessary. Origin has nothing to do with change. Origin is purely a greedy money grab move on EA's side.

As was Steam when Valve released it, yet now everyone's praising them and wish they had a monopoly, as if their prices weren't terrible enough as it is.

What... so a business shouldn't be about making profit? You could say it's Steam's purely greedy money grab by requesting a percentage of revenue made through DLC sales... The sooner people realise everything revolves around profits and stake/shareholders, the sooner you understand decisions being made.

Why would any company want to hand over control and supply of content/revenue to a competitor? I mean really?

EXACTLY!! all EA did was increase profit by not selling through steam, a right any business would do if they realized THEY DIDNT NEED THE MIDDLEMAN...and i do mean ANY business. People will still buy games using origin because they have the best games.

I cannot speak for European Steam prices, but US prices have always ranged from standard to great. I personally would not mind if Steam have never existed, but Steam has shown me that they are serious about innovating and improving Steam. I also trust Valve as a publisher far, far more than I trust and will probably ever trust EA. I don't care if they never release ME3 or BF3 for Steam. As long as they offer it without Origin, I will instantly buy BF3 and install ME3 when I get it. As long as I can ONLY use Origin, then Origin can screw off.

I guess you miss the part where I explicitly stated it is their right? I understand the business decision. As a consumer, I don't give a crap about their business needs and decisions. I only care about my consumer pleasure and principles. I have never said they were wrong nor have I told anyone else to boycott their products. I am simply not buying games that use Origin or wait until a bypass is released for said games, because that is my consumer purchasing power.

I agree with you on the CNC thing

NFS always sucked, you can only make car racing (worst kind of games) so fun after a certain number of years. The people who buy this crap are the same ppl who buy NBA 2k series.

The sims was always milking the series, these numerous dlcs has been there since the sim 1, if stupid people keep buying it (look at the record number of sales). They will still keep producing it.

EA did not kill spores as it was probably going to be a bad game anyways, other than the creature creator.

Bioware has owned EA since Mass Effect 1 (great game), DA1 (great game), ME2 (good game), DA2 (horrible), TOR (havent played but I hear its a very good game). So I guess one game out of the 4 games bioware has released is enough to blame EA for everything?

LOL at you calling EA greedy for making origin, I guess valve making steam was not the same thing at all. EA knows people will buy their games, they are not one of these companies who does not have the resources to create their own DD system and they have expressed their intent on acquiring more games. If you checked origin deals you will notice they are pretty competitive, Batman AC was on sale for 20$ before steam and its not an EA game. Origin is here for the long run

Spore is what pissed me off at them (I still bought BF3 just because i love Battlefield) but the initial 30 minute presentation is so much more awesome than the game under the same name. All dumbed down to speed production. I really do wish they EA let Will Wright do things his way.
