I am simply not buying games that use Origin or wait until a bypass is released for said games, because that is my consumer purchasing power.

But, it wasn't completely unnecessary. That's the point.

NFS always sucked, you can only make car racing (worst kind of games) so fun after a certain number of years. The people who buy this crap are the same ppl who buy NBA 2k series.
The sims was always milking the series, these numerous dlcs has been there since the sim 1, if stupid people keep buying it (look at the record number of sales). They will still keep producing it.
EA did not kill spores as it was probably going to be a bad game anyways, other than the creature creator.
Bioware has owned EA since Mass Effect 1 (great game), DA1 (great game), ME2 (good game), DA2 (horrible), TOR (havent played but I hear its a very good game). So I guess one game out of the 4 games bioware has released is enough to blame EA for everything?
LOL at you calling EA greedy for making origin, I guess valve making steam was not the same thing at all. EA knows people will buy their games, they are not one of these companies who does not have the resources to create their own DD system and they have expressed their intent on acquiring more games. If you checked origin deals you will notice they are pretty competitive, Batman AC was on sale for 20$ before steam and its not an EA game. Origin is here for the long run

- I still think Sims DLC was purely on EA. It is in line with their other business decisions.
- ME2 was subpar compared to ME1. Sure it looked better, but it played more like a movie as opposed to a game. DA 2 sucked compared to DA1. There is a trend of decreasing quality whenever EA takes control of a franchise. Games get dumbed down and milked.
- Spore I still believe flopped because EA wanted to get it to a much wider audience
- EA is greedy because they could have easily negotiated new terms with Valve and that would have been good for gamers. They walked away and tried to force Origin on everyone instead. Bear in mind only I have encouraged MYSELF to not use Origin. I have not encouraged a single other person not to use Origin and only wish them complete happiness using it and playing the game. This is purely how I feel as a consumer.

At the end of the day, i'd happily take origin over steam. Less obtrusive, faster and more stable. It's a far cry from EA Downloader (that was awful!). Steam has just become bloated over the last few years.

It is unnecessary. They would have made mad profit by simply using Steam or no distribution client. They chose to start Origin and force the issue through exclusivity. Is it wrong of them? No it was not. Was it necessary? No it was not. Was it a douche move IMHO? Hell yes it was.

The shareholders don't share your view. The shareholders elect a board that make it their job to create a optimum, sustainable profit.

A business isn't out there to "simply make a profit". if they made £1 off a £1million venture, they'de simply be making a profit. That's not the point, they are there to maximise total revenues and dividends. Tough luck mate, that's the world we live in! Business are there to make as large as possible profit.

If they feel Steam creates a risk to return on investment, why would they use it? Origin offers a sustainable future income and sole control over after sales revenue.

Like I said, I understand the business decision and their reasons behind it. As a consumer, I don't care about any of that and I am choosing to express my displeasure by exercising MY consumer right of not using an unneeded service. Like I said, this is my personal decision and I am not trying to convince other people to boycott them.

We need to take the "old west syndrome" away from these hackers and the internet in general.

No you do not understand the business decision behind it because you keep saying it was unnecessary , what was unnecessary for EA is having the game on steam in the first place, when they have the potential to make a larger profit. Its pure business.

Also if you do not want to try origins go ahead, origin does not have the host of problems people on here claim it does. However looking at your hatred of EA you wouldn't have bought any EA games even if they were on steam, so no loss there. If you were to have bought these EA games if they were on steam, you argument would be null as your supporting the same company which you claim ruins games and is shady.

Also in regards to your previous post, why couldn't valve negotiate terms with EA? EA did not want Valve selling their DLC, which seems fair since even retail stores don't sell dlc. But valve said no, EA is not in the same position as a small indie developer or medium sized firm where it has to cave into valve's demands. Valve could have bitten the bullet here.

I dont care about Steam or Origins, im just not gonna let some launch service stop me from playing a game. Also you had an earlier post which you have now since deleted expressing your joy at EA getting hacked, when this would only hurt the players who enjoy their games. If anyone can get satisfaction from that, well im not surprised by your juvenile attitude
