It is a pure business decision. Business decision =/= Necessary. It does not benefit gamers in ANY WAY AT ALL. That is why it is unnecessary. EA would have made bank regardless of whether or not they use Origin.

Also if you do not want to try origins go ahead, origin does not have the host of problems people on here claim it does. However looking at your hatred of EA you wouldn't have bought any EA games even if they were on steam, so no loss there. If you were to have bought these EA games if they were on steam, you argument would be null as your supporting the same company which you claim ruins games and is shady.

I have purchased many EA titles through retail previously:

- Various sports games on various consoles
- C&C: RA
- Sim City
- Sim City 2K
- Sim City 3K
- The Sims 1 & 2
- NFS
- C&C: RA2 (HUGE REGRET)
- ME1 and ME2
- BF:BC2
- DA1

I was actually a pretty frequent EA customer because I supported the developers. As long as it did not have Origin, I would have continued to be a patron.

Also in regards to your previous post, why couldn't valve negotiate terms with EA? EA did not want Valve selling their DLC, which seems fair since even retail stores don't sell dlc. But valve said no, EA is not in the same position as a small indie developer or medium sized firm where it has to cave into valve's demands. Valve could have bitten the bullet here.
I dont care about Steam or Origins, im just not gonna let some launch service stop me from playing a game. Also you had an earlier post which you have now since deleted expressing your joy at EA getting hacked, when this would only hurt the players who enjoy their games. If anyone can get satisfaction from that, well im not surprised by your juvenile attitude

I do not think it is good to hack anything. I expressed as much when PSN got hacked and I dislike Sony severely as well. If it HAD to happen to any company, I am happier about it happening to a company like EA as opposed to Valve or Blizzard. Capish? thumb.gif

EA is not as bad as people make them out to be. They churn out good games and they dont leave PC gamers hanging out to dry. And Origin or Orgy like I like to call it solved many problems I had with registering my games with EA and having a legitimate digital copy is always nice.

If you're going to hate EA at least do it for the right reasons, not because they aren't Valve and Origin isn't Steam.
