Im replacing my 3500+ with an x2 3800+!!! My 3500+ Venice will be on sale, and I only used it once (pm me if interested) lol... anyway, i see how many user's recommend this cpu and i would like to know other's experiences with it.

I had the 3500+ (NewCastle) 939 single core,
and have never regretted gettin my new one..
X2 3800 AM2. It's really cool how far it can be overclocked.
And we really don't have to talk about performance upgrade...
tehe.. just get the new one,it's worth it and it's cheap also!

Go wit the 3800, for skt939 paired with good ram, they've been hitting 3ghz. If you have AM2 get some DDR2 800 and you'll get the same, trust me I regret cheaping out and getting just 533. Maxed out my o/c at 2.4Ghz

Edit

been working alot around my ram and I'm clocking higher and higher!

Yeah, the X2 3800's are nice, I have one and although I cant oc much, stupid value ram , It should be a great improvement over your 3500. I can only hit about 2.35Ghz stable, 2.4 usually freezes after 10-15 minutes

I've got the X2 3800+ and I agree with the RAM comments. I've got Corsair crap that's really holding me back. Also the fact that my mobo won't give me any more than 1.5 volts... Keeps me at 2.6 Ghz but I want more!!

Phantom, drop your ram to 333mhz and make sure your HTT is lowered to 400 or 600mhz, then try and keep going. Also loosen up your timings on the ram and you might get around it.

Good Mb, and ram will get you a great overclock with the X2-3800, mine is at 2.8ghz.

Yeah, I did drop my ram down to 333Mhz, cause that was the only was I could get past 2.3Ghz. I don't know much about ram timings, so I don't know what I could adjust it to.
