Hi,
I want to be a folder, and perhaps contribute to other projects such as seti@home using BOINC. This would be a 24/7 running build with two graphics cards eventually. However I just don't know if i should be aiming for a full tower case or a mid tower.
I live in Shanghai, China. We have newegg here, it is possible to get a HAF X or a HAF 912 advanced.
But is something like the 912 advanced case a tad too small? I've never seen one in person, and to me it looks like a very tight fit to put everything in one of them. I would be air cooling (no corsair H100 avaliable here: only the H50).
HAF 912 Asia version
But the HAF X seems like a monstrosity and I've read there might be some quality control issues with it. The main things I want out of a case are:
A) Room for future upgrades such as extra gfx cards
B) Has excellent cooling so i can overclock everything on air and run it stable 24/7 at 100% cpu and gpu utilisation.
C) Dust! You have no idea how filthy the air is in China, the amount of dust is just incredible, so all air intakes need to be filtered.
Just to complete the picture, it'll be a Z68 or P67 mobo (no idea which yet) and core i5 2500k, for gfx card mostly like the GTX560 ti unless someone tells me something better is about to come out to win the price/performance crown. I won't be buying a monitor for it even (it'll be headless machine).
It's also my first desktop build ever (i haven't even owned a desktop for like 6 years), so apologies if I ask stupid questions.
Thanks for advice.
