Should i go for full tower or mid tower? - Page 2

I have both the Fractal R3 and the HAF932. The HAF is much much bigger then the R3 and is my main gaming/tinker rig. For me there is no substitute for a full tower but you need to be sure your office/room can accommodate it. Many people are often take aback at just how big a full tower is in the flesh.

Whether you get a mid or Full-tower depends on what you want to do with the rig and how far you want to expand in it. If you plan on sticking to air cooling, or a self-contained, zero maintenance liquid cooling solution like the Corsair Hydro Series or Antec's Kuhler H2O LCS's.. then you really only need a mid-tower. On the other hand, if you plan on ever going with a full custom water-cooling setup, you may need a full-tower as many mid-towers will have trouble accommodating a 2+ loop w/c setup. Not saying it cannot be done in a mid-tower, seen it done many times.. but, you get the point.

Bottom line, it really just depends on what your plans are for the rig and it's future.. smile.gif

Anyone have a pic of the HAF x with like something one universally knows the scale of next to it, such as a coke bottle? Might help me decide.

I'm leaning mid tower:

mid tower

since I won't ever do custom water cooled loop. As long as mid tower cases can have just as decent airflow and good temps with 2 uber gfx cards in there.

I would go with a mid tower. You can get great airflow in something like a HAF 912 by using the numerous fan mounts.

If you have Newegg wait for them to get the Switch 810. Great for air cooling or water if you choose to go that route down the line.

Newegg is kind of different here.

Well, the delivery service is horrible.

I'm just going to pull the trigger on the HAF912 advanced asia version. It seems some members here have it and all love it. I'm never gonna buy a mobo bigger than ATX and i dont see the point of water cooling when air cooling is sufficient even for overclocking.

I would like to mount a fan on the side window however since I will have 2 gpu, any idea which size/brand of fan i should go for? Can i get a dust filter for the side panel fan?

Thanks and will post pics as I build it.
