[EGM] DICE Reports Punkbuster issues resolved - Page 6

This is the best post in this whole thread. Takes all the $$$ away from the creeps coding the cheats. Makes the game cheaper (that will never happen). It would put us all on the honor system. I would believe in that system 100% more than a piece of evasive software running on my computer 24/7 (PB#A)
Lets face facts locks only keep an honest man, honest. If a thief wants to steal from you he will. Look what blizzard did with SCII cheats.

Look at Combat Arms or A.V.A. You can barely go a single match without running into a hacker. I've seen maybe only two obvious hackers since BF3's release. I'm not saying there isn't more, but they sure aren't as abundant.
There's only so much PunkBuster can do. I think you guys are just haters. tongue.gif

Even balance was told about the holes in the Punk Buster in 2008. Was proven to them beyond a shadow doubt. Did they fix it? NO they ignored it. Is it fixed. No its not. Did evenbalance tell you was fixed, or did Dice tell you it was fixed. Dice told they have reversed the bans, holes are still there.
Why cant evenbalance address the issues. The problem isnt with BF3 the problem is with evenblance and punkbuster. This just got started. The cheaters are PO. The mass murder hack is going out of control. Look at the leader boards top KDR The bans that Dice is so proud of reversing were BF3 server owners locked out of their own servers.

We have tried several times to contact Evenbalance and its supporters, even by using their Ticketsystem, to talk about this problem, but only had little success in doing so. Those bans have been detected fast by our system and were removed, so there was no bigger damage done. As said above, we know about this since 2008 and we relied on highest possible security measures, but as you might imagine, there is no 100% security, when the problem with PB is not fixed.

I suspect 80% of cheaters reported on forums and in games are perfectly legitimate players who are just really good or lucky. I mean, given the amount of times i've been called a cheater, anyone would think I am!

I get kicked all the time for hacking. Just yesterday in BC2, I shot a server administrator out of a helicopter (in my defense, I had a perfect vantage point and his pilot decided to hover perfectly still). He kicked me with the message "Cheating is for (insert colorful language here)".

PunkBuster is too easy to abuse, and server administrators need to be selected on the honor system, not whoever plays the most or donates the most money. It's ruining it for everybody else.

I saw one yesterday - I was the first person he killed by machine gun sniping from across caspian border (uncap to hilltop) with one shot to the head, no scope. I typed " is hacking" into the server chat window right after death and it kicked him and referred the account for a ban right away! Pretty freakin awesome! thumb.gif
