Checksum Error with Gainward 4870 PCS+

Thread Starter
Hello everyone!

I have got a Checksum Problem with my Gainward 4870 PCS+. I grabbed the BIOS with GPUZ and saved it on my desktop. Then I modded the file with RBE 1.28 (Clock Speed and Fan Speed). After saving the file and reopening with RBE it says:

asgfdsfjhgkp8jfn.jpg

I do not know why the Checksum is diffrent from the one on the card. If I take the OC Bios, I have the same problem. When I want to flash it with ATI Winflash, the programm freezes and will not flash the Bios. If I flash with the help of RBE and Winflash and set "force flash" it flashes the Bios, but nothing happenes. The new one was not accepted.

What can I do? Is someone able to fix the problem? If yes, I will upload my file.

Thanks!

Dump the original BIOS using GPU-Z > save > copy BIOS >  edit  BIOS >  save > flash.

Unless you have a specific reason to use other BIOS but the original stock one.

That's exactly what I did! Even if I use the unmodded Bios, the same error occurs...

While saving the edited BIOS with RBE, make sure you did not save it to another Vendor ID in RBE main tab.

I've checked that. And it is displayed "0x10B0 - Gainward/CardExpert". But as well the same error.

Start from scratch, make sure you do everything right. Save as *.bin or *.rom. Then flash it back to the card.

Try other versions of RBE, maybe the latest doesn't support 4870.

Also, I don't understand why there's a need to open the edited BIOS with RBE.

Upload your BIOS here.

Good lucks.

The Checksum is invalid, too. I grab the Bios with GPUZ, load it into RBE and then there is the same error. But why? I have not modified the file, why is there an invalid Checksum? oO

Edit:

Original:

Modded:

Edit2: There is a need to check if the Cheksum is correct. Winflash won't moan and will freeze after pressing "Flash". Tried with many different versions...

I don't have any problems opening BIOS that you claimed as original BIOS though it's not, and has been tampered with. The second attachment has no file extension either *.bin or *.rom.

I really don't know what you are doing and what is in the second attachment, I don't want to find out.

i have never said that i have probles with opening the files. as you can see in your screenshot, you have a.checksum error too. the second file was modified with rbe and normally saved with it. i changed nithing in the settings. every modified bios looks like this when i save it with rbe. and do not get your point... i only want a correct checksum for any of these two bios versions to flash them. no chance to flash with an invalid checksum..
