Yes, they're very similar in performance aside from the small size/ resolution difference. If you by chance happen to hook up devices other than your PC into the thing, the u2412m might not be the best choice due to not being able to scale 16:9 at 1:1, but will stretch it to 16:10.

I had 2xAsus VS248H-P at one point, and sold one of them for a 23" Asus IPS - losing the 1" screen real estate bugged me more than i thought it should.

I eventually had to get a bigger IPS panel and went with the 27" Koreans - but the VS is a good monitor - i liked it - and when calibrated, came decently close to the Korean IPS. Its thin, not very warm when operating and pretty ok at games

No complaints with the monitor.

I will be selling it when i get my 2nd 120hz 27" monitor though in a few weeks.
