The swiftech res has a larger hole in the bottom to fit a special nut that goes inside the res. and it has a pin that hold the cylinder in one of multiple positions.

You could use a male to male G1/4 fitting to mate that EK res (or any tube res for that matter) to the top of the dual pump but you might be stuck with the ports on the res facing the wrong direction when the fitting is tight. That is the main advantage of the Swiftech tube, you can make sure the ports line up to where they work the best with your build.
