Will I need to put more on? I got this used and this is how it came.

You will need to clean/reapply TIM every time the heat-sink is removed...

Get some 91%+ isopropyl alcohol and clean the heat sink and the cpu off. Use a small rice grain on the center of the cpu and put the heat sink on. Thanks

As stated it needs cleaning, as for how much you need. The amount is much smaller than you would think, thermal paste is meant to smooth out imperfections in the heat sink and heat spreader so they can be fully contacting each other. THese imperfections are tiny so not much paste is needed.

A pea size amount of TIM is PLENTY! More TIM is NOT better. TIM is only intended to fill the microscopic low spots in the metal surfaces of the HSF and CPU heat spreader.

What i do is put the smallest amount i can and that should be plenty.
