I am working on the following build. (all from Newegg of course)

Case:Aspire X-Cruiser http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16811144151
PSU: Aspiere 680W http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16817148019
MoBo: Asus P5B Deluxe WiFi http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16813131028
CPU: Core 2 Duo E6400 http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16819115004
Vid Card: XFX 7900GS Extreme http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16814150183
Memory: Corsair XMS2 2GB http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820145033
Card Reader: Sabrent 52 in 1 http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820300608
Floppy Drive: Sony Black http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16821103116
HDD (2x): Seagate SATA 3.0 320GB http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16822148140
HDD (2x): Seagate SATA 3.0 120GB http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16822148161
DVD Drive: LG Super Multi Burner http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16827136091
DVD Drive: LG Super Multi Burner plus Lightscribe from Bestbuy
Sound Card: X-Fi Platinum http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16829102190
OS: Windows XP Pro http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16832116059

Total: $1929.10

I have not purchased the following yet:
Mobo, Mem, OS, and I still need 3 of the 4 HDD's

I have modified the case slightly. I cut out the back fan port and installed a AeroCool Xtreme Turbine: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16835129245 and I cut out the 2 80mm front ports and installed 2 Aspire Blue LED fans to match the 2 that came with the case: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16811998101 I then installed the following fan grills (they all look the same) Logisys Blade Grill 120mm for the rear fan http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16800888014 and 2 Aspire G-Tornado Grills for top and side http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16811998119 I also repainted the case Blackhawk Perl Metalic (lots of sparkle) (Base coat Clear coat system). I would like to set the HDDs up in a raid but I have no I deal how to do that or exactly what it does (I do know that raid 0 wrights to both drives for performance enhancement, and that Raid 1 makes a mirror image on the second drive.) My Idea is to run the 2 120GB drives in performance mode and the 2 320GB drives in mirror mode if that is possiable. I am also considering water cooling and overclocking this system later on. I am new to overclocking as well and know only what I have learned here over the past few days. I have looked at this Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16835186134 for keeping the CPU cool instead of water cooling. Anyway I would welcome any and all feedback from you guys.

great system. but with good PC6400 RAM you wouldn't need the 8500 RAM- you would be able to OC it to the speeds you need. and for cooling i recommend the Thermaltake Big Typhoon vx.

Get a better PSU. You need a reliable brand and decent power.
OCZ GameXStream OCZ600GXSSLI ATX12V 600W $119.99

RAM is overkill in my opinion. This G.Skill likely performs similarly for less money:
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) $299.00

What's up with the two differnt hard drive pairs?? Why not four the same in RAID0 or in RAID0+1 if you need data security. Right now, you have 560GB space for $317.24 (including shipping). Four of these : Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drives give you 500GB for $319.96 (when put in RAID0+1) and your entire system is backed up, plus a higher performance (better drives!) on the system drives (RAID0+1 is about as fast as RAID0 - 2 drives)

Otherwise, nice rig

PS: cgrado: why only 1GB??

How tall is the Big typhoon? I need to make sure it will fit my case. As for the PSU I have already bought it and I thought Aspire was a good brand plus it's the 680W the one you showed me is only 600W what am I missing? Thanks for the Memory tip. I was under the impression that I would need the higher speed ram because it matched the FSB and would help with OC. If I don't need it I will gladly spend less and get the PC6400. As for memory brand is GSkill really good. I have never used anything but Geil myself and was going to try Corsair. Their XMS2 is getting good reviews.

Thanks for the Raid tip also I didn't know about 0+1 and I was looking for performance and data security. I plan to use this system for video editing and game play of course. I will also be doing some Midi recording on it.

Hey what about using this on the memory http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16835119011

I was also wondering about HDD cooling is there a need for it?

you would probably have to take that air duct off (or not install it) in order for the BT to fit. well, you would. (definitive statement). and brand goes into PSU as well. mainly because brands are known for making good PSUs with lots of amps on the 12v rail(s) and good consistent clean power. Best- PCP&P.

-edit (just click the edit button instead of making a new post)
the RAM cooler is pretty much un necessary and HDD cooling isn't necessary as long as you have good airflow over your drives.

RAID0+1 is a set of two striped arrays (RAID0) in a mirrored array (RAID1). You'll need four drives, and loose half the storage space.

the Apevia is decent, but no more than that. The extra power (Watts) mostly goes to the 3.3V and 5V rails (the Apevia has a combined max power of 330W on those rails, while the OCZ has a total max power of 155W - which is more than plenty). These reails are not that important. What's most important are the 12V rails, and there the OCZ beats the Apevia handily. The Apevia has two rails with 22A and 24A, while the OCZ has four rails of 18A each. I can't determine the total max load on either one, but I dare fairly safely say that the OCZ has substantially more power on the 12V rails. Inflated 3.3V and 5V rails are often used to inflate the total power of a PSU, and when I see one that does that, I don't like. Finally, the inner workings of the OCZ are built by FSP, one of the best PSU builders on the market.

As far I am concerned, there is no need for either RAM or HDD cooling, unless you go for rediculous RAM speeds.

Thanks guys for the tips I will seriously consider a new power supply. Although i just spend 99 on the one I have. I wish I had found you guys sooner. I will not worry about memory or HDD cooling. I am for sure getting the Big Typhoon vx. Will I still have room for an 80mm fan in place of the side duct with the Big Typhoon? And what brand of memory do you guys recomend?
