EK coolant Blood Red Safe?

Thread Starter
Is this safe to use in blocks?

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/14161/ex-liq-191/EK_EKoolant_Premium_Liquid_Cooling_Premix_Coolant_-_1L_-_Blood_Red.html?tl=g30c337s1547#blank

Will it damage them?

Stuck between 3/8 5/8 Tygon with this dye or primochil already colored.

Will it harm anything or clog them up?
Most would recommend staying away from dyed coolants and dyes for the simple fact that they could possibly gunk up, discolor, or otherwise create undesirable effects on your blocks. I would hope that a pre mix like this one would avoid such troubles, but there's really no way to tell until you've had it running in your loop for 6 months.

I'm sure the general consensus is going to say colored tubing. And I would have to agree, colored tubing with distilled water is going to be cheaper(the coolant can be expensive), look just as good, and perform just as well. All that without needing to worry about the condition of your blocks sounds like a pretty easy decision.

Shouldn't. There has been no proof of liquids causing gunking or clogging in our loops. More and more evidence is showing up, that plasticizer leeching from tubing is more likely the issue, which sometimes ends up stained from the dye in coolant, making people think the coolant is gunking.

If it dyes anything, it would be the tubing or any acrylic.

So I should be worried about my koolance bay res and my ek block
post #10 of 28
It's pretty rare for dying to occur, and if the EK coolant dyes the EK top, I guarantee you they will replace it thumb.gif

Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about it
