If you're looking for a well equipped laptop sporting AMD's new generation graphics technology, Lenovo may have exactly what you've been pining for. Lenovo quietly slipped out its IdeaPad Y470p, a 14-inch notebook with an Intel Core i7 2670QM processor (2.2GHz, 6MB cache), 8GB of DDR3-1333 memory, and AMD Radeon HD 7690 graphics with 1GB of video memory. That's a solid foundation, folks.

It also has a 750GB hard drive (5400 RPM), DVD burner, 2MP webcam, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, GbE, HDMI, premium JBL speakers, three USB ports + USB/eSATA combo, 6-in-1 card reader, 6-cell battery, and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit wrapped in a "real metal cover with brushed-metal effect."

The Y470p lists for $1,499 MSRP with a Web price of $1,249. That seems a bit much for a 14-inch laptop, but don't despair if this happens to be your dream laptop, Lenovo currently has it listed for $799 after eCoupon (WKLYDEALSY470P), or about the price of a lower end Ultrabook.

Estimated ship date is February 13, 2012.

This is the whole article so there's no reason to go to it unless you just dont believe me...

Lenovo is bringing it this year - the 7690M is a slightly faster 6770M, and it's faster than a Nvidia 555M. So... Lenovo has the best 14" gaming laptop! Take that, Alienware M14x. But the real prizes are going to be the Y480 and Y580. The Y480 will have a 28nm Nvidia 650M, the Y580 will have a 28nm Nvidia 660M. 480 will have either 1600x900 or 1080p option (I forget), the 580 I believe will have a standard 1080p screen (minimally the 1080p is an option). Both will have Ivy Bridge, up to i7 quad. Think they're releasing in late April/early May. Yeah so just a heads up to anyone who was thinking about getting a gaming laptop in the next few months..

Right... But that isn't a link to where you can actually buy/pre order the laptop so why should I care?

I could've sworn there was an article on the mobile graphics cards being rebranded ones with slightly higher clock speeds. That MSRP is just too expensive though and 14" screen is just small (probably 1366 x 768 resolution). My brother is dying to get a gaming laptop since his older Lenovo is 8 years old. For $799 after an e-coupon makes it better than HP's dv6t Quad Edition with 1GB AMD 7470M graphics card . Ivy Bridge will supposedly come out in April, so these older generation laptops will drop in price.

Lenovo always cheats with their MSRPs. They know how much Americans love sales! So their laptops are always on sale; if the Y470p with an i7 is over $900 ever I'd be shocked. Anyways you probably know Lenovo has the Y570, which is a 15" model priced similarly (<$750 with an i5, sometimes ~$750 with i7).

Edit: That Y470p is a steal for $800. Only thing it doesn't have over M14x is 1600x900 screen and backlit keyboard. No other 14" laptops come close for gaming.

That's not my job. If you want to order one go search yourself. I am not here to post links at your request. You do know how to use google do you not.

Let me help you... http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Lenovo+Y470p
