$45 for a good quality 430W. It can power a single lower end gaming card for sure.

Is the friend interested in overclocking at all? If he is, Id go with an AMD build. If not, the i3 is no slouch at stock speeds, even though its "not a quad core."

Then pump as much money into that video card as you can!

Some games just won't run on a Dual core well. My E8500 was fast and overclocked at 4.1GHz, it wouldn't run BFBC2 smoothly at all!
Upgraded to a Q9400, runs it fine even at stock. I was just stating that you'd be better with the AMD build.. Especially if you want to overclock.

Thanks for all the help guys. My friend decided to increase his budget to $800 and I though about giving him my sig rig's CPU/MOBO/RAM setup, while I go and buy myself a 2500k with a Gigabyte Z68 UD4 with 8Gb Corsair Vengeance ram. He decided to go ahead since my configuration still costs more but performance wise I think we all know who the better performer is tongue.gif
