If I recall correctly WD has a (or some) specific plants destined to the retrival of lost data from hard disk.
Before calling white flag, I'd give them a call and ask what they can do. You might be out of luck, but who knows!

I tried to call them but they would not retrieve my data so they replaced it. My new drive 1tb WD caviar black 7200rpm should be here this Wednesday. They shipped via 2 day air.

Yes the bays in my HAF 932 advanced are probably not set for it but when i go to take a drive out i just unclick the individual bays and they come sliding out so they might be. Also all i hot swap are external eSATA drives that i use for storage. My WD caviar black that went out was internal though.

Bump: You can always buy a RAID-controller card... They have PCI and PCI-e versions of that I guess...

Tip for the future. Don't install your os on a drive meant for storage. Get a 60-120gb ssd to use as a system drive. The rest can go onto the 1tb drive that is either in a raid 1 config or has a local network backup setup.

Have you tried freezing the dead drive yet? It may bring it back to life for long enough that you can get some data off it.

I might use my new drive to back up my OS ans games instead of just running my games on it, but for games like BF3 it put less strain on my drives to run it on the not OS drive.
