120Hz IPS ? When ? - Page 2

The problem from what I understand is that the limit is more on the side of the IPS panel then anything else. I would imagine there will be a change in panel type before we see 120 hz IPS.

+1 the 750 seems to be about the best thing going and with clear coat it really makes colors pop just so long as your particular window and lighting set up are not behind you, them it could incure some reflctions

Just to add to this - a good quality 120hz w/ very nice colors (like Samsung 750D) is closer to the ideal "120hz IPS" monitor...than an low lag/fast response IPS monitor...imho. You know what I mean?

And Yeah Witchdoc is right..it has reflections..but i don't notice them at all...unless its really sunny and you have windows behind you...colors do look better/smoother because of glossy coating. i kind like glossy screens....

Have you guys seen the horrible reviews of the 750D on newegg ?
Also I just read that HDMI can only run 60Hz at 1920x1080p ? .. then why in the hell would I want to buy a HDMI 120Hz 1920x1080p display just to have it run at 60Hz only ???

also 120hz is only available through DP ? .... light me up cuz I can't get that 750D if I know I won't be able to run it at 120Hz at 1080p

120hz is possible thru display port or dual dvi...If you dont have a display port on ur gfx...than 750D is not possible...since it only has display port......950D can do dual dvi or display port. 750D stand design is better tho imo. I have a 750D..best gaming monitor ever..others on forum would agree...not sure about newegg reviews...i noticed a few times people didnt research before buying and hence gave a bad review due to imcompatiblity with nvidia 3D or no displayport on gtx fard etc.

120 Hz is on DP 1.2 or dual-link DVI. Sadly, to this date Nvidia has not implemented DP 1.2 on its GeForce series. AMD on the other hand long supported DP 1.2.

Which 120Hz Tn display would you recommend ? Some very knowledgeable member on Guru suggested me the Asus VG236HE, other say the Samsung S23A950D. (want 23" or close to, no 27") see thread of mentioned member here (page 3): http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=357972

-I need the monitor to have at least on of these 2 connector: DP or DVI-D dual link
-size: 22" - 23" or close to... not much bigger
-since one of the worst downside of 120Hz tn display is IQ, I'd like to get the one that has the best IQ possible...

On newegg, there are very few monitor with these requirements.... maybe I should not relay on Newegg to select my monitor ?

the way you're complaining one would think your gpu doesnt have dp and the 120hz monitors are forcing you to upgrade your gpu.
dp cables are cheap. and i think anyone interested in a 120hz monitor has a gpu with at least a dual link output.
