Changing From 1045T to FX 6100, Same 990FX Mobo, Re-Install OS Necessary ?

Thread Starter
Switching from 1045T to FX 6100 with the same Sabertooth 990FX Mobo. Is there any need or would you guys recommend a fresh install of Win 7 ?
Don't flame me for trying BD, I've got the damn mobo and I'm gonna try one out ! biggrin.gif

No. A reinstall should not be needed. Just run the windows experience index again so it recognizes you changed hardware.

Make sure that you have the correct/latest mobo BIOS before swapping CPUs so the mobo recognizes your FX-6100.

I'd also suggest reading the Bulldozer/FX Owners thread as there are a LOT of BIOS differences and considerations with the FX CPUs compared to PII.
