I do apologize if my questions are being quite redundant, as I feel they are. I just want to get the best bang for my buck here like we all do. Am I right?

ain't nuthin' wrong with getting best bang for buck thinking.gif whatcha doin' with your cpu when you upgrade? rolleyes.gif

a 212+ or 212+ evo will cool 4.8 fine. more than enough for A 4.5ghz clock
you want a minimum of 560ti 448 core for the money you want to spend.
then again, i wouldnt buy that case. the cooler master v6 is quite nice for the price.
as ive said before, imma cheapskate. i do spend money on what needs money though.

yeah.i'm repping him..even though he's mistaken about the cooling

I'm going with a 2500k just because I can get it for a very good deal through a good friend of mine.

That board is pretty pricey all things considered. The Z68 isn't a massive upgrade with regards to the P67 architecture. It does allow the utilization of processor level graphics (something you don't really care about), and SSD caching if you are using a mechanical drive alongside an SSD.

Socket 1115

As some have echoed it isn't life or death to upgrade, but considering that you can certainly find cheaper Z68 boards I would just opt for the newer chipset.

Meh...? :/

If I remember correctly those budget Asus boards don't support SLI, only Crossfire. Not the end of the world if you have no intention of doing either, but it is something to keep in mind.

Asrock makes some pretty nice budget Z68 boards currently.

The GIGABYTE Z68 UD line is also pretty great as well. There is an open box UD3 for sale.

I'm loving the ASRock. I'm probably gonna go with that. Thanks so very much for the recommendation! thumb.gif

For the GPU since a 560 Ti was recommended, I'm thinking about going with this.

Why is is that the 550 Ti has better specs than the 560 Ti? Minus the 560 Ti having more stream processors.
