The 980x is still a beast, I'd lean towards that if I were you. You'd end up with a more powerful rig overall, plus that's not a bad deal on that cpu

3930K + 1 GPU.

1 7970 is enough to hold until you upgrade to a xfire. Then you'll have the best of the best.

980x isn't a bad deal, I like the x58 platform, but lga2011 is better, newer etc.

gaming wise youre better off with the 980x and dual 7970s.

The extra 7970 will benefit you far greater than the 3930k will.

Option 2: Upgrade to 980X keep LGA1366

CPU: Intel I7-980X (used) |: 350 eur
Motherboard: Asus Rampage III GENE
Memory: G.Skill 16GB 4x4 2133Mhz CL11
Graphic cards: Dual ATI 7970 XFX Black Edition |: 1200 eur

Games are waaaay more GPU intensive than processor intensive, so I vote option 2 as well!

Watch your CPU usage during a game with your 950 and you'll understand.
