Critique my audio setup (before I buy)!

Thread Starter
So I'm planning on finally upgrading from my old Logitech Z-5300 set to something better. It's done its job, but it's time to move on. Here's what I'm thinking:

The sub features in/out ports, so here's what I'm thinking insofar as a connection chain:
Code:
[COMPUTER] >TOSLINK> [DAC] >12 gauge wire> [SUB IN/OUT] >12 gauge wire> [SPEAKERS]

How does that sound? Am I missing anything obvious? Can I be saving money anywhere along the line? I mentally pieced this together over the weekend, so I could probably stand to change it a bit somewhere. I'd just like to get some feedback.

edit: Actually, hm. I'm unsure of how to connect the sub (featuring standard wire terminal posts) to the speakers (featuring TRS, XLR, or RCA). Anyone have any recommendations on this?
