As the name suggests, the MSI Z77A-GD55 comes equipped with Intel’s upcoming Z77 chipset to support Intel’s Ivy Bridge 22nm processors. It has an LGA1155 socket which get its power from a 9-phase power system. As other LGA1155 motherboards, it has four DIMM slots which support up to 32 GB of DDR3 memory in dual channel mode. It has three PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot (one of them is wired for x8) and four PCI Express x1 slots. It supports both NVIDIA SLI and AMD Crossfire.

That really does look like a pretty good board.

Edit: Too bad it only has 6 SATA ports.

Looks nice and all nut sometime the "millatary" markings are just a gimmick. I would keep and eye on this and see what the reviews are and it sounds like a nice entry level board though.

Finally, a mobo with a heatsink that doesn't look like a gun or ammunition. The heatsinks kind of look like a energy cells from sci-fi games.
