This is the only place Ive seen this though.

I still think Asus makes the best motherboards, especially in their higher end. Apparently there is an issue with the Crosshair V cause Ive read more than a few threads on them crapping out on folks but as a whole I think their boards are the best judging by all the reviews and torture tests Ive seen. Asus always seems to come out on top. My Sabertooth has been rock solid so far for the few weeks Ive been running it. Hopefully it stays that way.

Yeah. I called them about a week ago to RMA my P8P67, and they have yet to send me any RMA information.

Unfortunately in my experience of building many PCs over the past 20 years, Asus mobos are very unreliable. In the U.S. Asus does not have any competent customer support either.

I had one mobo go bad shortly after installation. Asus approved an RMA and I returned it. They sent me a used mobo that someone had manually replaced CAPs on. It looked like they found it on the side of the road and picked it up and shipped it to me two weeks after they received the new, bad mobo back. I returned the POS replacement, hacked mobo and bought a Gigabyte mobo which is still running today with zero issues - years later.

I'm 90% sure it's the motherboard.

Read the thread, we've already determined it was the motherboard and OP has had it replaced and its running fine now.

Well I had my CHV for about 5 months and had no issues, this can happen to any company/component. I overclocked 1100t the motherboards life in my sig and an 8150 overclocked for about a week before selling the cpu. Going from msi to asus rog line showed me there is a difference is why I had to get an rog board not that im on a 2500k. I also personally dont like the new msi bios, my cousin has the 990fxa-gd80 and the asus bios is cleaner and well laid out.

Since you got your replacement from newegg Im guessing it was less than 30 days old, but I believe if you have an rog board they express ship a new one on the first rma. Then you return the old one, they call it their premier line. I havent known anyone to rma a rog board to back this up though.

btw most rma are refurb anyways. MSI gave me 2 refurb mobo's before I sold the 890fxa-gd70 for the CHV.

glad that your mobo is solid now. ive heard alot of asus horror tales from the local microcenter guys, but on the other hand it still is personal preference, and just because the local microcenter guys say asustek is crap doesnt mean it is. I'm currently running an asustek dvd burner and wireless n pci-e 1.0 card in my desktop and both are solid. thumb.gif glad that things worked out for ya. though, if your ever interested in a change, i can tell you from personal experience that asrock boards are very good for overclocking too.
