Props to mikey!

Thread Starter
He walked me through my first overclock and now am running my next gen rig at 3ghz, with 1:1 ratio!! may not sound like alot to yall but to me its huge, I did not think I would be able to tell in real time the apps, but it load SUPER quick now, menus programs you name it! All thats left is to test for stability, and i didnt even raise nb voltage.

PROPS TO MIKEY!!

One thing has me worried though... in bios when i raised mem volt to 2.1 it turned red, like that was extreme or something, but booted fine and everything. Is that normal?

Yeah, it's just that it's considered dangerous "unless you know otherwise". My mem is rated for 2.2, which is red as ... I'm running it on 2.3 since it's slightly overclocked.

Red means "Danger", so some RAM will die by having that much voltage through them.

which model do you have? the NR, NS, or the HZ?
I know that the NR is rated to be 1.9-2.0, and i think that the HZ is rated at 2.0-2.1.

You shouldnt have any problems running high voltage on any DDR2 ram as long as you have good case air flow. I dont think there is a DDR2 kit that will die at or much above 2.2 with good cooling. Ive seen some HZ in upwards of 2.6 @ 1200mhz.
