did you try re applying tim before smashing that nhd14
post #162 of 207
if it wasn't dead you broke up 150 to 200$ of stuff.. I would say you're an idiot but if it was dead already... GOODFIGHT PIECE OF CRAP.

A NH D14 is the beast air cooler ou there... how could it deserve this? XD I already destroyed a mobo that was sooo crapy i wasn't able to even put a 9800gtx+ on it ( foxconn stuff) and smashed it with a tree axe and burned it with a flame trower. holy cowwwww it was awesome!

And ram wasn't passing memtest86+? it was dead as the mobo was crappy?

Anyway, nice to see an update on this build. finally some high end stuff tongue.gif

If it's dead then send it to RMA and get a new one. That motherboard is $140, D14 $96, and I'm not sure about the RAM so he easily destroyed over $235 in hardware plus the RAM price. I really hope something happened to that stuff that prevented it from being RMA'd...

Haha, as if this stuff has any resale value whatsoever. I've got some BP fittings and a Swiftech waterblock languishing in the forsale section. I got one lowball offer that was so ridiculous that I told the guy I would throw the parts away before I sold them for that price. Maybe I'll come up with a clever idea for destroying them and post pictures too.

It's his stuff, who cares what it's "worth" ?

Actually all of that stuff would sell. The only iffy part would be the RAM since their prices are so cheap right now. That motherboard could be sold to anyone looking for a cheap platform upgrade and the cooler is still one of the best air coolers that you can buy,

The mb was almost fried during the Chimp Challenge and wouldn't overclock at all anymore. It had gray and blue screens daily at stock.

They may have RMA'd all of it, but I have no time to deal with any of that. Also, giving it away takes time and money as well. I wasted enough of both trying my hardest to get those components to work properly. They were all defective in their own "special" ways.

No need to. It was applied correctly to begin with. The 3930 threw off too much heat for it to handle over a 4.3 OC. I knew I should have watercooled from the beginning, but I had a feeling to wait a bit. I was right.

I was going to drive over it all while still mounted to the mb, but it seemed too easy, so I went this route...lol

On a side note: If you overclock, you void your warranty. The memory was at 1.68V to barely keep it stable, but it went in and out of stability daily. The nhd14 was bone dry inside from being cooked during OCing. The mb was almost fried and on it's last leg. I pushed all these components to their extinction. RMA wasn't an option. tongue.gif
