I think I had to do 25 meters for a top level swim qualification in the military and that was hard enough...well, mind you that was in near full gear. Might have been a little further than that, but not much.

Yeah, some of the things those top level divers can do are pretty amazing. The athleticism is phenomenal, really pushes the boundaries of what the human body is capable of.

I expect to be dissapointed no matter what really. More then likely it's just going to be a natural formation of something at the bottom of the sea. Next likely would be something from here such as a simple ship wreckage of some sort. Lastly even if it WAS something from another planet there is no way we'd ever find out the truth. It would be covered up sure enough. In fact the conspiracy theorist in me believes this could already be happening.

Think about it, the thing was discovered months ago. Also while it may not be easy there have definately been much harder expeditions to the sea floor then this would take. So the question is why? Simply a money matter? That's possible but not likely in my opinion. These guys had the money to be out there for 9 straight days. Not to mention if they don't have money to actually get anything they find why throw away the money it would take to go out searching for 9 straight days anyway? In other words why search for anything if you don't have the money or ability to get the money you need to do anything about it?

It's possible (although I admit not very likely) that they DID find something something that got the interest of some government. That government could have then forced these people out and either made them or bribed them into being silent.

I think it's possible there could be people down there now as we speak examining this thing or even trying to salvage whatever they can to quietly ship it away some place it could be studied w/o fear of any prying eyes.

For the record I am not a conspiracy theorist. I currently do not believe in UFO's of the alien variety and am not even convinced of intelligent life anywhere else in the in the Universe. However I don't believe that there is any world power existing today that would not want to control the release of this information if not silence it completely. The reasons for this would be multiple.

yes it was discovered months ago, but if it had been the subject to a cover up, cnn wouldnt have been posting it this long after the discovery, well, they would at least be explaining how their discovery was stolen from them. besides they have the fortune of finding it in waters that are bordered by eight countries, so if one tries to take it from the other there will be issues. dont think cover up and conspiracy is the easiest thing to accomplish in their situation, unless theres a series of accidents and the research is finished behind closed and confidential doors, in which case there will be a site up about it in a year or so.

if you watched the video or read the article they explain that they are more of historical archeologists than those seeking profit. they want to preserve not exploit. which would mean they probably dont have the ability, or the funds to just go and pull an unknown structure, or vessel out of the water, and they would need the assistance of a museum or enthusiast in that particular field. when you work as an associate for a series of museums you rely on them to assist you in your historical finds and the recovery of such. they dont just give you everything and tell you to bring it back when you find something.

they were out for nine days, on the ninth day, they discovered the structure. they didnt sit there for several days looking at it, they found it marked it, examined it to the best of their abilities and returned. you dont bring hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment out on a simple field expedition, but when you find something thats when you start turning that way. the guy is a 20 year veteran of his field, hes not an uppity wannabe why rush a great find and risk ruining it for the endorser?
