Thinking about one of those passive cards recommended. And yes, I'll probably get her at least 8GB and fill the 4 slots. thumb.gif

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but why not get a passive 6670 and hybrid crossfire it with an A8-3850? It would be very quiet and around the performance of a 6770.

NZXT Source 210 is cheap and has plenty of fan slots if you ever plan to use them all.

ya passive cards are all about budget if you wanted the hybrid crossfire then the mentioned ones would go great with the apu if you wanted more power i know the 6770/6850/gtx 450/ gts 550ti all come passively cooled however these will definetly cross the power threshold you were looking at and double the price of the card. Although each of them would all run on a 430w psu

your best bet for a quiet case would be to find one you like and then just swap out the fans if you can find a case that accepts larger fans ie 200mm then you can get alot of air moved pretty quietly

Get her a nice set of noise cancelling headphones and don't worry so much about the fans. If she is enjoing the hardware the sound will not matter. Also win for you as you would not have to converse as often. thumb.gif

LOL. biggrin.gif

I shall research this option... thumb.gif

But on the serious side, I'll prob get her one of those fractal cases and stuff it with a few Gentle typhoons running @ 1450 rpm.
Something else tho, Does anyone know if the H60 stock fan is noisy?

Get 2133Mhz ram. Might be more expensive, but those IGP love it a lot and you'll thank yourself later.
