Sorry, got stirred up. In general, the capabilities of your graphics card should match the capabilities of your CPU. A GTX 550 TI like you mentioned in your build is a terrible match for an i5 2500k (which is, for all practical purposes, the fastest gaming CPU on the market). It'll hold you back in just about every game. I have a worse CPU, much faster graphics, and my games are still limited by my graphics card.

I'll just list some of the good value graphics cards on the market now.

My vote goes to a GTX 560 TI 448 core, 1.2GB card.

EDIT: Also, you have the wrong motherboard. Sorry wrong link. Go for this one anyway. Best 2500k mobo for the money.

This one's designed for unlocking, if you're interested.

Thank you so much for providing me with links to compare things, it helps a lot. The monitor was something troublesome because monitors seem so expensive compared to everything else, but I really do need a monitor. I live in Ohio, which a lot of people are saying to check for a Microcenter, so I will do some research into that and see if that can help me save as well. Thank you so much (:!

Edit: also, go to the Microcenter main page and theres a drop down showing the store locations. Hopefully there is one near you, as you can save quite a bit of money on their CPU/mobo combos.

I do live in Ohio, so I believe there should be a Microcenter somewhere near me! This way I can get a better deal on some things, and put the money to a better video card =) Thank you!

There are 3 Microcenters in OH so theres a good chance you live near enough to one. You can get a 2500K there for $180, and you get $50 off any P67 or Z68 motherboard when you buy them together (that is the chipset you want anyway).

Look here, (should be on page 27).
The Asrock Z68 Extreme 4, Asus P8Z68-V Gen 3, Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H, or MSI Z68A-GD65 G3 are all very good boards and under $140 with the savings.

Also, do you plan to add another graphics card in the future? That would help with the PSU selection.

yep, i mentioned go for the toxic, dirt 3 or TFIII (which gets my vote)...and you would go for 1GB vram, why? anyway, both good points worth noting! thumb.gif

edit: moar shaderz is better biggrin.gif don't think of it as locked / unlocked. more like they are there / not there. like overclocking, more performance for no cost.

We'll save you some time. Awhile ago, someone discovered that by changing the BIOS/firmware of the 6950 graphics card to a 6970 one, you could turn the 6950 into the faster 6970. Think of it like an imaginary Chevy engine: it's like "unlocking" a V6 engine that has 2 pistons disabled to a V8 simply by changing the computer out. It's a gamble, as many cards do not "unlock". The Sapphire Toxic 6950 I listed was the last 6950 I knew of that could be "unlocked" to a 6970 most of the time.
