Do not EVER EVER EVER buy an XFX product. EVER. - Page 9

I understand you expect your customers to pay for shipping, but that is not how I do things. XFX produced a defective product, XFX has left me with the hassle of a non-functioning computer, so XFX is going to make up for that by covering the cost of shipping. In your reply, you may say "that`s not our return policy". I am aware of that, but your company`s policy is not U.S. law and can very easily be deviated from by someone who has the authority to make that call. That`s why I`m pre-empting that lame response by pointing out the obvious now, so we can skip the back-and-forth and dozens of telephone calls and complaint with the credit card company and so on. I have no problem being a huge douche if I have to, but I prefer to be polite and gracious with people. So to sum up: I am already pissed that I was sold a product that didn`t even last a year. To be un-pissed I need a shipping label. To be happy, I need a PSU that lasts for years. thanks, Ethan

I never would have bought an XFX power supply even before I read this, and I've read horror stories about GPU RMAs in the past (along with the XFX 4890 bad batch incident) so I fully intend on never purchasing an XFX product.

So you tried to save 30 bucks and got burned on the backside of the deal, and now you're qq'ing about getting saddled with a defective product?

While I haven't always had to pay shipping back to the company, I don't find it unreasonable. I hardly find this thread worthy. Just seems like another BAWWW thread to me.

I could understand if they raped you upside down sideways... but asking you to pay shipping for a product you saddled yourself with is hardly anything to flip crap and die over. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

I feel like I just made a trip back to high school reading the OP's post.

Next time do your research and stop being so miserly. You'll save more money in the long run. You brought this on yourself.

Zero sympathy from me (and I'm sure numerous others) dude.

Gonna get flamed for this....

But, you sound like an idiot. I'm sorry. This is how every computer component company I have ever done an RMA with operates. It is clearly outlined in their RMA terms. Next time read it before you buy something.

1. Try pulling this crap with whatever other manufacturer you think is "good". They will not send you a pre-paid shipping label right off the bat unless it is in their terms that they will.

2. You should have returned it to newegg since it was sold to you as new, and is clearly not. Thread should be titled "do-not-ever-ever-ever-buy from newegg -ever"

3. To say that any corporation does not care about their customers is a fallacy. Without customers, a corporation cannot generate revenue. If they didn't care, they wouldn't be in business.

Why would you get flamed? I completely agree with you! I emboldened a portion for the OP's emphasis.
10 to 1. I beginning to think it was an open box sale. People often buy them for the extra savings thinking they are getting a new product and get an Open box (which is new, but returned)
If it isn't, he screwed himself out of a PSU because he wanted to save that 30 bucks on a MIR.... Now he's out a PSU and buzzing about it...

This is just a hilarious BAWWW thread. I'm with ghostrider85 up there.. where's the rep- button?

Not to mention, XFX seems to be doing pretty good on HardOCP's PSU reviews, and they are pretty stringent about their testing process. It's quite difficult to get a Gold rating from them... but XFX has done it and also gotten a silver..

http://www.hardocp.com/reviews/psu_power_supplies/1/xfx

I mean really.. not bad for such a "horrible" manufacture.
