Would like to use on board video ports without a video card in dual screens...

Thread Starter
The series of intel mb in question is the Z68 series ( http://www.neweggbusiness.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121527 )

I would like to be able to use the HDMI port on one monitor and the DVI port on the other and be able to do extended display (or maybe clone display) on two monitors, WITHOUT the use of a pci-x video card.

Does anybody know if this is possible from experience?

I'm quoting this page: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/chipsets/mainstream-chipsets/z68-express-chipset.html

Under features and benefits:
Support for HDMI, DisplayPort, eDP and DVI2 High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) delivers uncompressed HD video and uncompressed multi-channel audio in a single cable, supporting all HD formats including 720p, 1080i and 1080p. Dual Independent Display expands the viewable workspace to two monitors.

No, sorry but you can get a low end card with 2gbs like the Nvida 550 TI 2 Gb is under $150 and it will easily do that.
