if your in the background reading please comment...it makes me feel loved and makes me want to work harder and pour more time/money into the build thumb.gif

Ok so i teased the sli bridge cover and alot of other stuff but for now i have to sleeve ... i went ahead and got paracord and am redoing/doing sleeving as my main project right now... this is my first time really sleeving a large amount and first time paracord sleeving anything ... while i must say no heatshrink is an amazing thing there are a few drawbacks i have found... for one it is impossible to heat shrinkless sleeve a cable the splits into 2 directions ... such as my 3 cables going to my 580's in this build

first thing real quick is i found an old psu that i decided i would make my testing psu biggrin.gif
so here it is with a picture of how i got it to work without a motherboard (you arch a paperclip from the green wire's pin to one of the black wire's pin on either side of it)

ok so here is my sleeving for today and know that this is only about 4 hours as well as the first time ive used my newly set up work area ... still trying to make this sleeving look as pro as i can with the type of cable this is
first off i started by painting the ends of the wires that would have heatshrink with black paint so that no colors would show through

IMG_5238.JPG

since i dont have any pins or a crimping tool i used what i had and just soldered and taped the cover it with sleeving .... its not as perfect as id like it but then again no one will ever see it. also where the cable splits in more than one place i had to cut so that i could get the sleeving on then solder and tape back when ive got the sleeving on and ready... the pictures will show what i mean

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^the black heatshrink will not be seen as it will be down with the molex connectors beside the psu thumb.gif

no the problem is how to fit the chunk of pin into the molex connector ... i bought a dremel for a reason ... since it wont be seen i expanded the molex connector biggrin.gif

This is as far as i got with sleeving this cable today... had to go do some stuffs jealoussmiley.gif ...

couple off topic pics for you biggrin.gif
Paracord sleeving that didnt make it sad-smiley-002.gif

Before a day of work... after a whole day of cleaning and organizing

After 4 hours of sleeving and lunch

Will finish sleeving that one cable tomorrow .. will def update but i dont know if i will start another one of these cables (3 in total of these) or if i will focus elsewhere and take a much needed break from sleeving .. while i was learning the paracord technique i burnt myself quite a few times mad.gif
and dont think i need that break because i dont know how to put work into something and work through pain ... just saying itd be nice to have a day or two off of sleeving redface.gif
