Xbox case with PC inside? - Page 3

It can be done, but if you are gonna do it do it right!

ASRock Z68M-ITX/HT LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz(out of stock ATM)
CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3(low profile heatsinks!)
StarTech PEX16RISER PCI Express Riser Card - x16 Left Slot Adapter
Scythe SCBSK-2000 120mm Sleeve Big Shuriken 2 CPU Cooler
LITE-ON CD/DVD Burner(Slot-load)
SAMSUNG Spinpoint MP4 HM500JJ 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache 2.5" SATA
PowerColor AX6770 1GBD5-IDHG Radeon HD 6770 Single Slot (Dirt3 Edition) 1GB 128-bit GDDR5
You may have to have the PSU external. Not 100% sure on that.

Theres all the hardware save the PSU that you should need. Now you just have to figure out how to get it all into the case!

that looks like it may actually fit but i will have to do some 3d modeling to be sure

Use this CPU/GPU, so you don't have to worry about cramming a GPU in there. No, it's not an i5/580, but I have an A8 in my laptop, and they're dang fine entertainment chips, and power efficient little buggers too. Perfect for a 360 PC mod, as cooling more than that in a 360 case would be difficult.

I KNOW this mobo will fit inside

I think this one will fit.

Maybe you could cut a 120mm hole in the side??? Otherwise, the Scythe would be good.

As for the PSU, you'll have to use an external one unless one of these fit inside

You might want a low profile or external DVD/blu ray drive to save space,

And a little SSD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820249015

Or a fast 2.5" laptop hybrid drive, for more space for media.

There's a disassembled 360 sitting on my desk right now, and I've always thought about doing what you're doing now.

I think THIS Might work...
Quote:
High Reliability design, less cables. The picoPSU-160-XT is the toughest plug-in 12V ATX dc-dc power supply. The picoPSU is compatible with an entire range of mini-itx motherboards as well as regular boards. The picoPSU-160-XT provides a cool, silent 160 Watts (200 watt peak) of power for small PC designs using a single 12V power source

Not sure about powering video card... but... It's worth a shot.

Maybe.

the only thing with an H60 is the 120mm rad, the xbox is only 100mm tall...
