They're in Long Beach, Pacific time.

Nano5656, on your question, the warranty is valid if you use a swiftech top.

These emails all happened from Monday of last week, the email where I admited using the pump top was tuesday at 11am. But like I said I'm over that. tongue.gif

So, I tried to blow dryer, no dice.

Also, my question was more of does the mcp-350 essentialy become the mcp35x with the mcp35x stock top on it?

The 350 is a fixed speed 12watt pump where the 35x is an 18 watt pwm variable speed pump. Both are very good pumps but there is a power and control difference.

Also some of the 350s with solid blie impellers DDC3.1 can be modified into an 18 watt DDC 3.2, but it has to be the older solid blie impeller. The newer blue/orange impellers can not that I know of. Regardless, modidfying would void your warranty too.

If money is really tight and you are comfortable with moderate soldering of pcb stuff, you could solder on a DIYIHK Toshiba board and also solder on a pot to manually control speed. It is extremely powerful on a DDC 3 series stator, but a bit noisy and runs hot.

Alternatively, you could buy a Bmaverick DDC1 and just bolt it on the res and go. Its probably still more than enough pumping power but the DDC 1s are a bit more buzzy than the 3 series controllers.

If yer getting a Swfitech MCP350, you might as well spend the 25 bucks and get a 35x (cuz you will spend that on a top). If you're getting a DDC1, you will spend another 20-30 bucks on a top, and if you add a pcb, lol... you might as well get the real deal 35x. After getting a 35x, don't take the top off, and bolt it to a res that takes a G1/4 fitting. I know you just went thru one so I can understand the hesitation, food for thought.

for the price that everyone is quoting on the MCP350 (which seems to be about 70-80 bucks), you can get the MCP35x on jab-tech for $80 and there's the 5% off "facebook" coupon code. i bought mine there and its been working great. just another food for thought if the price is what's making you hesitant.

If you know a pump maverick, why pay top dollar of $80+shipping for a MCP350?
